Building for Tomorrow’s Demand

Fortnightly Magazine - November 2025

The FRI Annual Public Utility Symposium was held in mid-September at the University of Missouri, and once again proved why it should be a fixture on every utility regulator’s calendar.

In its 34th year and designed for connection and candor, the intentionally limited-capacity event drew professionals from twenty-four states, including Commissioners representing sixteen states, with more joining online.

The sold-out venue featured dynamic panels that explored transmission planning, resource adequacy, infrastructure cost mitigation, and innovation speed, all under the theme of Building an Economic Field of Dreams: If You Build It, Will They Come?

The symposium offered a timely examination of risks and rewards of scaling infrastructure ahead of demand. Be sure to attend the 35th anniversary Symposium on September 16, 2026.
