Unique conversations
The North American Electric Reliability Corporation, better known as NERC, held its Trades Meeting and Executive Committee Meeting in mid-October in Washington, D.C. The PUF team was there too to bring readers an in-depth look at NERC.
The Q4 2025 Trades and Forums Meeting is attended by members of trade associations, and topics covered, among others, included E-ISAC, FERC’s wildfire order, modernization of standards processes and procedures task force update, CIP roadmap update, large loads action plan update, and 2025 LTRA and reliability assessment modernization. The PUF team took that opportunity afforded by a Day at NERC, to talk with leadership on how NERC is pursuing a reliable and secure North American bulk power system.
NERC’s mission is to assure the effective and efficient reduction of risks to the reliability and security of the grid. PUF Executive Editor Steve Mitnick discussed achieving that with NERC CEO Jim Robb, Chief Engineer Mark Lauby, General Counsel Sonia Rocha, Senior Vice President of Strategy and External Engagement Camilo Serna, and Senior Vice President of Regulatory Oversight Howard Gugel.
