From Classrooms to the Modern Energy Grid

September is always a bit of a transition month in our household. School is back in session, (new and overpriced) backpacks are loaded up, and my kids are heading out the door looking just a bit taller than they did a few months ago. My oldest has only one year left before high school, which feels a little surreal to say out loud.
Watching them take these next steps reminds me of how intimidating change can feel at first. New teachers, bigger expectations, and a whole lot of unknowns. But as every back-to-school season proves, that initial nervousness usually gives way to something great once everyone finds their stride.
That dynamic mirrors what’s happening across our entire sector. The energy industry is in a state of constant, rapid evolution, and while the sheer pace of transition can feel daunting, so much of this change is deeply positive as we modernize the grid, expand access, and build practical solutions together. That idea of leaning into change runs through every page of this month’s issue.
