Front Lines to Power Lines

Front Lines to Power LinesIn honor of this Veteran’s Day, Public Utilities Fortnightly is publishing “Front Lines to Power Lines.” PUF’s Steve Mitnick and Rachel Moore tell the inspiring stories of thirty-five military veterans in the utilities industry.

They begin with how these individuals came to their military service and how they served in their branch. Then, they chronicle how each veteran found a new career in the utilities, and what these incredible men and women do today. The book ends with advice to and from military veterans and their thoughts on what companies can do to attract, hire, retain, and support former servicemembers.

The book includes several pages of beautiful photos from the interviewees, of their time both in the military and the utilities, and an inspired cover by past NARUC President Paul Kjellander.

The American Public Power Association, Edison Electric Institute, Electric Power Research Institute, Florida Power & Light, National Rural Electric Cooperative Association, Portland General Electric, and Southern Company have sponsored this book, enabling Public Utilities Fortnightly to distribute it digitally throughout our industry at no charge or obligation.  Read and enjoy the book and share with others freely!
