A Glass Half Full

Fill a quarter cup with what was PwC’s public sector consulting division and another quarter cup with a consulting firm we’re all familiar with, Navigant. Pour both into a large glass and mix well. That’s a recipe for a glass half full — a recipe followed in a recent merger of the two — with plenty of potential for the resulting mega-firm, Guidehouse, to better serve the utility regulation and policy world.

Remaining as the leader of the energy, sustainability and infrastructure practice is the extremely energetic Jan Vrins, who told us:

“We have to bend the curve of carbon and methane globally. We're passionate about how we can help prepare companies ... to navigate through this whole climate change and energy transition. Whether it's issues like the role of natural gas, which we think is important to talk about, or renewables or offshore wind or hydrogen production, we want to continue to show and share with all our clients and the broader industry, what is feasible right now?”

It looks like we’ll often be seeing Jan’s new teammate, Dan Hahn, in the Guidehouse era. Dan also talked with us about a passion of his:

“One of the unique things we can offer, and we're working on this right now, is what we call integrated risk management. It’s a holistic broad approach at the CEO level... We're able to provide solutions for our customers that go beyond your traditional roles of, I'm going to just look at risk and compliance, or I'm going to just look at climate risk.”
