New Opportunities: The Nuclear Regulatory Commission announced the selection of Darren B. Ash as CIO and deputy executive director for information services. Prior to his selection, Ash worked as DOT’s associate CIO for IT investment management.

The Westar Energy Inc. board of directors announced that William Moore will succeed CEO James Haines. Moore also will become a member of the board. He currently is president and COO. Haines announced his retirement as CEO effective June 30, 2007.

Energen Corp. shareholders re-elected five members to the diversified energy company’s board of directors. Four members of the board were re-elected for three-year terms: Steven D. Ban, director of the Technology Transfer Division of Argonne National Laboratory; Julian W. Banton, retired president and director of SouthTrust Corp.; T. Michael Goodrich, chairman and CEO of BE&K; and William Michael Warren Jr., chairman and CEO of Energen. Elected for a one-year term was James T. McManus II, president and COO of Energen.
