New Opportunities: Iberdrola USA announced that Kevin Walker joined the company as chief operating officer. He was senior v.p. and chief information officer at American Electric Power. Mark Lynch is named president of subsidiaries New York State Electric & Gas and Rochester Gas and Electric. He was president and CEO of the New York ISO.

Alliant Energy promoted PatriciaKampling to executive v.p., CFO and treasurer. John Larson is promoted to senior v.p.-generation, with more responsibilities involving generation-related duties.

CH Energy Group promoted Denise D. VanBuren to the position of corporate secretary and v.p. of corporate communications from v.p. of public affairs and energy efficiency.

American Superconductor (AMSC) promoted Daniel P. McGahn to president and COO from senior v.p. and general manager of AMSC Superconductors.

Constellation Energy Nuclear Group announced that George H. Gellrich joined the company as site v.p. of Calvert Cliffs nuclear plant. He was manager at PSEG’s Salem plant.

PECO named Romulo (Romy) L.Diaz, Jr. as v.p. of external affairs and Anthony(Tony) Gay as associate legal counsel in the Exelon legal department. Gay takes over his position from Diaz.

El Paso Electric promoted Mary E. Kipp to v.p., legal and chief compliance officer from assistant general counsel and director of FERC compliance.

KPMG LLP promoted JohnKunasek to head its energy, natural resources and chemical practice. He succeeds Bill Kimble, now managing partner of the firm’s Atlanta office.

Wind Energy America announced three executive appointments. Mel Wentz is named CEO, Brian Hill is chief development officer and Colin Jackson is CFO.

Dominion East Ohio named Anne E. Bomar as senior v.p. and general manager, from v.p. and general manager. She succeeds Bruce C. Klink who retired as president.

Ameren named Jeff L. Dodd as manager of wholesale power and fuels accounting from managing supervisor, trading operation settlements.

Chesapeake Utilities promoted Joseph Cummiskey to v.p. of the company and also to president of PESCO, its natural gas marketing subsidiary.

Kinder Morgan named Tom Martin president of natural gas pipeline operations. Duane Kokinda succeeded Martin as president of the Texas intrastate natural gas pipeline group. Steven Kean returns to his role as executive v.p. and COO of the Kinder Morgan companies.

Torys LLP hired Mark Bain and Daniel Ford as partners in its infrastructure and energy practice. Tara Mackay joined the practice as senior associate.


Boards of Directors: PECO appointed Charisse R. Lillie to its board. She is v.p. of community investment for Comcast and executive v.p. of the Comcast Foundation.

El Paso Corp. named David W. Crane and Timothy J. Probert to its board. Crane is president, CEO and a director of NRG Energy. Probert is Halliburton’s president, global business lines.

Ameren elected Stephen R. Wilson to its board. He is chairman, president and CEO of CF Industries Holding.

Gas Technology Institute elected two new members to its board. Alexander A. Karsner is founder and CEO of Manifest Energy and Thomas E. Skains is chairman, president and CEO of Piedmont Natural Gas.


Retirements: Entergy announced retirements of Mike Kansler, CEO and chief nuclear officer of Entergy Nuclear; John McGaha, senior v.p. of Entergy Operations; and Bud Storey, v.p. and deputy general counsel. John Herron, Entergy’s senior v.p. for nuclear operations, assumes Kansler’s duties at Entergy and his role as CEO designate of EquaGen, to operate six merchant nuclear plants poised for spin-off.
