PUF's Steve Mitnick: What is your role within EDP Renewables North America, and what is a typical day like?

Sandhya Ganapathy: It's an interesting job, given what I have done in my career so far. Prior to joining EDP Renewables, I was an investment banker. Now, I've been with the company for eleven years.

In my first ten years with EDPR, everything for me was mergers and acquisitions, of which the first six years was focused on North America. In 2017, I started running M&A for the entire group. Today, we are present in twenty-eight countries.

Since January 2022, I took over as CEO of EDP Renewables North America, and this is the most fun job I've had in my time here. On one side of it, I get to do the quintessential CEO role of setting strategy for the company, and for how we look at our activities for the foreseeable future.
