Gladys Brown Dutrieuille is Chair of the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission and recently finished her term as President of the Mid-Atlantic Conference of Regulatory Utilities Commissioners.
Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission Chair Gladys Brown Dutrieuille, who just finished her term as MACRUC President, appears to be always at work, and that hard work is noticed. Most recently by the Pennsylvania Bar Association's Public Utility Law Section, which presented its Christianson Award to her June 1, in recognition of an outstanding contribution to the development, improvement, and advancement of the profession of public utility law.
PUF's Paul Kjellander, a NARUC past President, sat down with her as Chair Dutrieuille looks forward to a new future.
PUF's Paul Kjellander: You just finished a lengthy period in leadership roles in your region moving up and serving as President of MACRUC. How important is it to have these forums for regional regulators?
Chair Gladys Brown Dutrieuille: Very important in terms of having educational conferences like this to discuss issues, even though issues may be viewed differently within the states. An example of how important it is what we do here at MACRUC is the interest of North Carolina that wanted to join our regional conference, and that was done in November of last year.
