Innovators and superstars of the energy and utilities industry attended Fortnightly Top Innovators 2023 at the historic Willard Hotel in Washington, D.C. to learn, trade ideas, and network.

The Alliance to Save Energy held its thirty-first annual Stars of Energy Efficiency Awards Gala on September 19 at the Spy Museum in Washington, D.C.

Avangrid, a member of the Iberdrola Group, hosts its Digital Summit each year and invites technology leaders from around the country to its Connecticut headquarters to showcase the latest digital solutions for the energy section.

PUF held its inaugural Fortnightly Top Innovators 2023 conference October 10-12 at the historic Willard Hotel.

The PUF team honors 17 individual innovators or teams of innovators, in categories such as reliability, transmission tech, and grid ops.

“Operating in an underground environment is different. The equipment must be rated differently, must be able to function in fully submerged environments, and be reliable to do that, so this equipment was built with that idea in mind.”

“We have several of our distribution feeders that are a hundred percent connected solar on the distribution feeder. Today, we don’t have any way of energy management on the distribution feeder, so the battery storage will enable us to do energy management on those distribution feeders.”

“The goal of this testing is to enable newer projects by looking at signals and controlling devices such as relays for when we want to interconnect DERs onto our grid and see how they would impact our systems.”
