After 25 years with the company, has retired from his position as chairman of the board and director of MDU Resources Group. Schuchart is the fourth person to serve as chairman of the board of MDU Resources, and the first non-member of founder R.M. Heskett's family. also retired as vice chairman and a director of the company. Orr, who had served on the board since 1978, was the company's first vice chairman.

Biggs Porter has been elected vice president and controller of TXU. He replaces , who is retiring after 12 years with the company. Porter was previously sector vice president of finance for integrated systems and aerostructures at Northrup Grumman Corp.

U.S. Secretary of Energy has appointed 10 members to the first-ever Federal Energy Management Advisory Committee, charged with reviewing energy management issues at federal facilities nationwide. The members include of Sempra Energy Solutions; of the Mississippi State Energy Division; of the Tampa Electric and Peoples Gas companies; of the Salt River Project; of the Polyisocyanurate Insulation Manufacturers Association; of the School of Architecture at Carnegie Mellon University; of Parsons-Brinkerhoff Co.; of Philips Lighting; and of the office of Rep. Barney Frank.

has been appointed vice president for the environmental product sector at EPRI. Sussman, who played a key role in developing EPRI's electric and magnetic field research program, has been with EPRI for 17 years.
