Judy Pensabene has joined the Republican staff of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee as deputy chief counsel. She is returning to the committee, where she worked from 1990 to 1995, after serving as vice president of federal affairs at Constellation Energy Group.

Entergy announced that Peter P. Schneider has been hired as vice president of Nuclear Human Resources, a new position within the company. Schneider's prior experience includes stints at Human Resources Strategies and Solutions, Inc., Exelon, and PECO Energy.

Malyn K. Malquist has joined Avista Corp. as senior vice president. He will be succeeding Jon E. Eliassen, the current senior vice president and CFO, who plans to retire in April 2003. Malquist is expected to be named CFO at the November 2002 meeting of the company's board of directors. He previously has held positions at San Diego Gas & Electric and Sierra Pacific Resources.

James Connelly has been named by the Secretary of Energy to serve on the Department of Energy's Electricity Advisory Board. Connelly is a commissioner with the Massachusetts Department of Telecommunications and Energy. The Energy Advisory Board was established last year to give the secretary independent advice on electricity policy issues.

Samuel L. Miller has been named executive vice president and COO of NiSource. Miller was formerly a partner at Accenture, with experience in redesigning, implementing, and managing business operations.
