GE Power & Water Wins Outage Services Work for DTE Energy’s Fermi 2 Nuclear Power Plant

DTE Energy awarded outage services work to GE Power & Water through GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GEH) and GE Power Generation Services (PGS) for the utility's Fermi 2 Nuclear Power Plant. GEH will provide outage and inspection services related to the boiling water nuclear reactor at the Fermi 2 plant, while PGS will provide inspection and maintenance services to the main generator and six turbine valves.

GE Announces Largest North American Power Project for Its 60-Hertz J920 FleXtra Gas Engine Technology

GE Power & Water's Distributed Power business signed a contract to provide Sky Global Partners (Sky Global) with its Jenbacher gas engine technology along with a 30-year contractual service agreement for a new 50-MW high-efficiency power plant in Colorado County, Texas, near San Bernard's Rock Island substation. This represents the largest North American power project for GE's Jenbacher J920 FleXtra gas engine so far.

GE, Princeton Power Systems, Partners Build Solar Power Microgrid in Africa

The government of Equatorial Guinea selected MAECI Solar, a division of Management and Economic Consulting, Inc., in collaboration with GE Power & Water and Princeton Power Systems, to install a 5-MW solar microgrid system on Annobon Province, an island off Equatorial Guinea in west central Africa. The solar microgrid will feature 5-MW solar modules and system integration by MAECI, an energy management system and controls from Princeton Power Systems and energy storage from GE.

PHG Energy and General Electric Provide Renewable Power to West Tennessee City

The first commercial collaboration between PHG Energy (PHGE) of Nashville and GE Power & Water business of General Electric is officially online and creating electricity from waste materials at a new Covington, Tenn., facility. GE’s Clean Cycle generator, based on the organic rankine cycle (ORC) technology, produces power by utilizing heat delivered through PHGE’s downdraft gasification system and waste-mixing process.
