NV Energy promoted Robert Stewart to senior v.p. of customer relations.

Calpine Corp. appointed Todd Thornton as treasurer and he now holds the title of v.p.-finance & treasurer.

The California ISO appointed Keith Casey, Ph.D., as v.p. market and infrastructure development. The ISO evolved the position of Karen Edson, v.p. external affairs to v.p., policy and client services.

FirstEnergy Corp. announced that William R. Ridmann was promoted to v.p., rates and regulatory affairs from director of state regulatory affairs. He succeeds David M. Blank, who retired. Its subsidiary, FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Co. (FENOC), promoted Peter Sena to v.p. of FENOC operations from v.p. of the Beaver Valley nuclear power station; Paul Harden was promoted to v.p. of Beaver Valley from v.p. of FENOC nuclear support; and Don Moul, is named v.p. of FENOC nuclear support from director of engineering at Davis-Besse nuclear station.

PPL Montana promoted Pete Simonich to v.p. and COO from manager-generating assets.

El Paso Electric promoted David G. Carpenter to senior v.p. and CFO, from v.p. of regulatory services. Rocky Miracle was promoted to senior v.p. of corporate planning and development from v.p. of corporate planning.

Constellation Energy appointed Claire E. Buchan as v.p. for public strategy. She was chief of staff at the U.S. Department of Commerce.

APS hired Andrea Bereznak as its community development consultant for the southwest region.

Ventyx hired Alan White as v.p. of advisory services in its EMEA division.

The Natural Gas Supply Association hired Daphne Magnuson as director of public affairs.

M.J. Bradley & Associates LLC hired David J. Manning as director in its New York City office. He was executive vice president at National Grid U.S. named David Roylance its president and COO. He was senior v.p. of Reliant Energy.

Babcock Power hired Stephen Kapsalis as COO. He was president and CEO of AAF International.

MTU Onsite Energy Corp. appointed Todd Riemann its COO of Mankato, Minn. Operations.

Computer Sciences Corp. announced Edward J. Krause rejoined the company as a partner in its chemical, energy and natural resources group.

Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd. appointed Dr. Anthony (Tony) De Vuono as senior v.p. and chief technology officer.

Venable announced Elias Hinckley joined the firm in its renewable energy practice.

Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP announced Peter Ligh joined the firm as associate in the litigation and energy and environmental practice groups.

Atwell-Hicks hired Damon Sinars as senior project manager in its power and energy division.


Boards of Directors:Southwestern Energy elected Stephen L. Mueller to its board. He is the company’s president and CEO.

Hawaiian Electric Co. appointed Peggy Fowler to its board. She was president and CEO of Portland General Electric until March 2009.


Retirements: TECO Energy announced Chuck Black, Tampa Electric Co. president and Bill Cantrell, Peoples Gas president, retired after 36 and 34 years, respectively.
