The forty-six qualifying nominations for this year’s Fortnightly Top Innovators included one hundred and thirty-seven innovators. Twenty-three of the nominations — exactly half of them – were of an individual innovator. The remaining twenty-three nominations were of a group of innovators. The groups ranged from small two-person teams to large teams with as many as a dozen team members.
During our Day at the Delaware PSC, we asked Chair Dallas Winslow about the top regulatory concerns. Excerpted from October’s PUF, here’s what Chair Winslow said:
“The biggest issue is cybersecurity. Our primary role is to make sure that we have a reliable, safe supply of electricity. What’s going on around the world is very threatening and there have been continuous attacks on utilities and other organizations.

In the nation’s capital on July 31 and August 1, 2019, Dentons hosted many of the globe’s thought leaders on the subject at the Smart Cities & Communities Summit.
Every continent was covered, as were a number or countries and cities, each striving to set the pace in providing smarter services to their public. Five communities were celebrated by Public Utilities Fortnightly as the Fortnightly Smartest Communities 2019: Austin, Columbus, San Antonio, Spokane, and suburban Birmingham.
